| I suggest that you consider getting the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. The test topics are described at http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprogr...se/course.html . Also, it helps to have an MBA from a top school to get an entry level position at a major investment firm. |

| I don't know if this is the right group..if it's not, I hope someone can point me to a place where this question might get better answers. I'm a college student who will be graduating soon from a well-respected University. I have a strong technical background, but I've often thought about having a career in investing (venture capital, equity, investment banking, etc.) Unfortunately, while I'm fascinated by investing, I know very little about it. Can the resident experts on this newsgroup recommend books or resources or give me tips on how best to learn more about the ins and outs of investing? I want to learn more than enough to convince myself whether or not investing (and what branch of it) is for me. I also want to be able to do well on any interview questions that prospective employers may throw at me ![]() Thanks, Steph |
