The best way to use gold and silver is let the other guy do it.
That is, avoid making personal investments in gold and silver.
The problem is that these things have no real value and they
are hard to buy and sell. In addition, they have been terriable
investments, with a historic growth rate of only 1% to 2%, less
than inflation, so you are garanteed to lose value by holding it.

Default Best way to hold Gold & Silver

I'd like to put a portion of my money into gold & silver, and I'd
prefer not to buy mining stocks. Any advise on the best way to do it?

I'm hesitant to take delivery of it and keep it in my house. I've
considered a safe deposit box (though it would be too small for the
silver). I'm not sure if I trust that, though it's a possibility.

I was interested in perth mint certificates, but apparently they're
not compliant with the Model Commodity laws in my state, so I'm not
able to buy them.

I'm interested in the Sunshine Minting safekeeping program ($50/year).
I haven't read much about them, though. Has anybody else even heard
of this program?

I'm also considering having the metals shipped to the Delaware
Depository and stored there. They charge a 0.75% annual storage fee,
though.

Thanks
