| I live in Louisiana which is a community property state. All assets are owned jointly by my wife and I. In my will I am able to specify that assets go to my children through a spousal trust (usafruct) which allows my wife to use them until she dies. Is it possible to specify a spousal trust to be the beneficiary of my IRA? Even though my wife "owns" half of my IRA assets, she apparently is not able to specify a beneficiary. Why not? Thanks Frank |
