TIAA-CREF has provided retirement plans for educational and research mutual funds to the general public a few years and these funds are tracked by Morningstar. If you go to TIAA-CREF's website http://www.tiaa-cref.org you can get a good explanation on the retirement plans offered through employers and individual plans. They also list a section on performance with links for Morningstar ratings under both employer plans and individual plans at: http://www.tiaa-cref.org/charts/ra-performance.html -- Richard McBane |

| I can participate in my employer's retirement investment plan and invest on a bunch of funds under so-called "TIAA-CREF Variable Annuity Accounts". One option is "CREF Equity Index". I went to morningstar.com, and found "TIAA-CREF Equity Index" (TCEIX). Originally I thought they were the same thing, but later on I realized they are not. Can any of you educate me what the difference is between them? Is it possible for me to find data for "CREF Equity Index" from morningstar.com? Thanks a lot in advance! S.S. |
