 Re: CD's Insured If it doesn't say that it is FDIC insured - it probably isn't. I'm almost 100% possitive banks are required to advertise they are FDIC insured but if the CD is coming from an insurance company or foreign firm - it may not have insurance. Brokers may sell you something that isn't FDIC insured - ask them if it is covered by SIPC - it should be insured up to FDIC limits. | CD's Insured Are all CD's in the U.S. insured by the FDIC? I'm seeing advertisements in the paper for 2.8% apr for a 1 yr cd and I don't see anywhere on the ad the mention of fdic so I'm thinking maybe its not fdic insured. Thanks, Chris |
