No, it's not.

That's not true, either. The rule is that you can only deduct
misc expenses in excess of 2% of your AGI. 2% of your AGI is
in general not equal to $750.

Default Capital loss limitation

I understand that I am limited to a $3000 deduction each year for
capital losses in the stock market. Is that limitation subject to any
offset, exclusion or deductible amount? (For instance the
miscellaneous expenses deduction is subject to an exclusion of $750, I
think.) Thanks.
