Why would you even care? You'd be dead! You've got
no one depending on that house for a roof over their head
except you, and you'll be six feet under. Why on earth
would you pay good money that can be put to use
elsewhere, or spent and enjoyed while you're alive, why
would you want to spend it on policy premiums when
there's no one that needs the benefit?

There is ONLY 1 purpose for any Life Insurance.
That is to provide dollars at a specific point in time,
usually at DEATH. Those dollars must be left to specific
person or entity.

Since you seem to have no dependents, there should be
no need to provide those dollars at death.....................

IF there are no heirs, the mortgage holder would demand
payment, and not receiving it, would forclose on the property.
It would then be sold to the highest bidder (suposedly), to
pay off the note with any balance going to your estate.

Default Life insurance without dependents..

I had a question regarding life insurance. I am thinking of
purchasing a home next year something less than $150k. I am not
married and I have no dependents. I know that in the case of my
parents, my dad has life insurance to pay off their mortgage in the
case of his death.

My question is, since I do not have any dependents and I have no wife,
do I need to worry about this? If I had a $150,000 mortgage with
$125,000 owed and I died, what would happen?

I do have siblings, but I'm not so sure they would even be interested
in having a house willed to them. That that could be an option I
guess.

Thoughts?

Thanks.
