| Actually, as a businessman, I can tell you that often times, indeed, a pending charge will appear on a card, but if for whatever reason the transaction is not completed, the charge will not get finalized. In these instances, the pending charge is on the credit card (and counts against your credit line); I tell people to wait 7-10 (liberal estimate) for it to disappear, but 3-5 business days sound about right too. While there's certainly no excuse or justification for the run-around and hanging up on you twice, it might be a good idea to wait out the recommended 3-5 business days and see what happens. If the charge is still there, contact Equifax, and if they do not resolve it to your satisfaction then take it up with your credit card company. Good luck. | I just tried to get my credit report from Equifax.com and they were unable to give me my report due to not having enough information. The page after submitting my info said it would not charge my credit card, but THEY DID CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD! There are no contact or email numbers on their web site, I had to spend an hour searching online to find a contact number to talk to a live person. They hung up on me twice and finally redirected me to two different numbers, and I finally got the right department. They said the charge was "pending" and should be reversed in 3-5 BUSINESS days. Don't you love it when they say "business days"? All I wanted was a simple credit report. Instead, I got a nightmare. The point is - if you attempt to buy their services, you probably won't get anything but a charge on your credit card - and a nightmare trying to get a refund. If you do use them, don't say I didn't warn you. |
